The classical games conducted on Tuesday and Wednesday had concluded in draws, prompting the need for the tie-break phase.

Praggnanandhaa’s exceptional performance throughout the tournament is noteworthy. His victories over world No. 2 Hikaru Nakamura and world No. 3 Fabiano Caruana earned him a place in the final against Carlsen.
