Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday asserted that his party will conduct a caste census in Madhya Pradesh after winning the assembly elections in the poll-bound state. He quoted BR Ambedkar who used to say that one should not do politics of hate but for a change. 

The Congress chief was addressing a public rally at Kajlivan Maidan in Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh’s Bundelkhand region. While addressing the public rally, Mallikarjun Kharge slammed the Shivraj Singh Chouhan led government in Madhya Pradesh and also criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party over the issue of Manipur violence. 

In addition, Mallikarjun Kharge declared that the Congress will establish a university in Sagar in the name of Sant Ravidas as soon as they form a government. Assembly polls are expected to take place in the BJP-ruled state by the end of this year. 

Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge further announced about giving Rs 1500 to women and that the money will be increased in the future. He also pledged to give an LPG cylinder for Rs 500 together with 100 units of electricity for Rs 100. He pointed out that the BJP government implemented the Bundelkhand package that was sanctioned on the recommendation of senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. 

Referring to the laying of the foundation stone of Rs 100 crore memorial-cum-temple of sant Ravidas by Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier this month, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge noted that the Bharatiya Janata Party laid the foundation of Saint Ravidas temple in Sagar but demolished it in Delhi. He alleged that the prime minister remembered Saint Ravidas only during the election. 

Former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Kamal Nath criticized the government over the issue of unemployment, corruption, atrocities and scams. He also underlined that the biggest challenge in the poll bound state is unemployment.
