AAP leader Raghav Chadha updates his social media bio to suspended Member of Parliament

Aam Admi Party Raghav Chadha has updated his bio on the social networking site X previously Twitter following his suspension from the Rajya Sabha on grounds of gross violation of rules, misconduct, defiant attitude, and contemptuous conduct while the privileges committee investigates the matter.

Now the new bio of Raghav Chadha on X read, suspended Member of Parliament, India.

Chadha had before questioned why he had been expelled from the Rajya Sabha in a video posted on X. Chadha addressed himself as a Rajya Sabha member who had been suspended and asked, Why was I suspended? What did I do wrong? Was my suspension a result of my inquiries to the BJP, the country’s largest party, leaders? Or maybe my offence was that I voiced my opinion over the Delhi Services bill.

Earlier, Chadha had questioned why he had been expelled from the Rajya Sabha in a video posted on X. Chadha addressed himself as a Rajya Sabha member who had been suspended and asked, why was he suspended. What did he do wrong?  Was his suspension a result of my inquiries to the BJP, the country’s largest party, leaders? He also said in his video, perhaps his offence was that he spoke against the Delhi Services Bill and requested justice from the BJP.

In response to the BJP’s accusations, he said, the BJP is accusing him of forging signatures but the truth is any MP can propose the name for the formation of any committee, and neither the signature or the written consent of the person whose name is proposed.

The 34-year-old leader became the second Rajya Sabha member from the AAP to face a suspension. Before Chadha, Sanjay Singh had been expelled from the Rajya Sabha on July 24 for repeatedly disobeying the chair. When Sanjay Singh repeatedly voiced his opposition to the bill that the federal government had put out to replace the ordinance on service control in Delhi, Vice President Dhankhar admonished him.

Sushil Kumar Rinku, the party’s sole Lok Sabha representative, was suspended on August 3 for hurling papers at the chair. Pralhad Joshi, the minister for parliamentary affairs, made the motion to suspend Rinku.
