Box office trends: Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 gets bumper opening on first day, collects Rs 40 crore

On its first day of release, Gadar 2 achieved an outstanding feat at the domestic box office. A portal reports that the movie garnered Rs 40 crore nett on Friday in India. The film is directed by Anil Sharma. Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma play the main characters in Gadar 2.

The portal claims that early estimates indicate Gadar 2 made Rs 40 crore nett in India on its opening day. On Friday, Gadar 2 had a 60.81 percent occupancy rate in Hindi overall. The romantic-action drama Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, which is set during the partition of India, was followed by Gadar 2 23 years later. When it was released in 2001, it made box office history.

Gadar 2, which was set in the turbulent Crush India Movement of 1971, showed Tara Singh’s (Sunny Deol) and Sakeena’s (Ameesha Patel) legacy through outstanding performances, stirring dialogue, and the iconic hand pump. Additionally, it featured Tara Singh travelling all the way to Pakistan to defend his son Charan Jeet Singh from the Pakistani Army played by Utkrash Sharma.

The story of Gadar, which told the love story of Tara Singh played by Sunny Deol, and Sakina played by Ameesha Patel, Gadar 2 tells the story of the persistent animosity between India and Pakistan through the relationship between a father and his son.

Lieutenant Colonel Devendra Rawat from Punjab (Gaurav Chopra) requests Tara for assistance in deploying his trucks and sending immediate ammunition at the border to assist Indian forces as the threat of conflict grows. Tara and six Indian troops vanish while battling the foes. Later, it is discovered that they are being held captive by Pakistani Major General Hamid Iqbal (Manish Wadhwa), who intends to get revenge on Tara for the deaths of 40 of his regiment at the climactic scene of Gadar.
