Renowned actor Anupam Kher, who gained significant acclaim for his role in the spy thriller film IB71, is now gearing up to play Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore on-screen.Earlier this month, Kher unveiled his first look from the upcoming film, which received mixed reactions, with some individuals criticizing his decision to take on the role. However, the actor, known for his work in The Kashmir Files, remained unfazed by such comments.

Kher attributed the poster’s viral reception to the hard work of his entire team. Kher mentioned that he found amusement in some people’s reactions, urging him to leave Rabindranath Tagore alone and not portray him on screen. He came across these comments through his PR team, but he didn’t let them affect him.

Following his post, Bengali actor Swastika Mukherjee took a veiled dig at Kher, expressing her disapproval of anyone attempting to play Robi Thakur (Rabindranath Tagore) on screen. In response, Kher stated that negative views are often put forward for attention-seeking purposes and that there is no upside to gaining notice through criticism. He questioned if the concerned person was acting as Tagore’s spokesperson.Around 99% of the people whom he sent the image asked him why he was sending them Tagore’s picture.

Kher emphasized the effort that went into creating the look for the character, which took his team nearly two months. Mastering Tagore’s expressions alone took him three months of dedication. However, he refrained from divulging further details about the project, dismissing the criticism as absurd. He suggested that such remarks could discourage the creation of impactful projects like Oppenheimer and Schindler’s List, as well as documentaries.

In conclusion, Kher asserted that negative comments hold no significance for him, and he would rather focus on the appreciation and hard work put into his portrayal of Rabindranath Tagore.
