Recently, when Delhi was reeling under extreme flood situation after River Yamuna breached the danger mark, several old illustrations of the mighty river went viral across the social media platforms. Now, an old image of Kedarnath temple from 1880 has surfaced on Twitter. The image has been shared by IPS Atul Sharma.

The old image of the Kedarnath temple received more than 4K views along with 113 likes and 11 retweets. Reacting to the picture, one social media user noted that he can see the hutments around the shrine that must be the langars or temporary settlements. He added that 1880 is really an old picture and also a priceless treasure.

Another social media user commented that the picture depicts pure peace, wonderful grand vision, and hundreds of salutations to Mahadev, the God of Gods. She further exclaimed that hundreds of salutations to the most merciful Lord Shiva Shakti, the heritage of Sanatan Dharma and the inspiration of divine life. She concluded her tweet with the slogan, Vande Matram. 

Meanwhile on Monday, the Kedarnath temple has banned photography and videography within its premises. According to reports, Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee has put up boards at several places on the temple premises that directs the devotees not to enter the temple premises with mobile phones. The notice added that any kind of photography and videography is strictly prohibited inside the temple. It further warns the devotees stating that they are under the surveillance of CCTV cameras.

In addition, the temple has also asked the people to wear decent clothes and avoid setting up tents or camps in the temple precincts. As per the notice, legal action will be taken against those not following the order. The aforesaid notice was written in Hindi and English. Evidently, this move by the temple committee follows after a video of a woman blogger proposing to her boyfriend in front of the Kedarnath temple went viral.
