The highly anticipated film Merry Christmas, featuring Vijay Sethupathi and Katrina Kaif in lead roles, has been shot in two languages. On Monday, the cast and makers unveiled new posters, revealing the film’s release date. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, this thriller will hit theaters in both Hindi and Tamil on December 15.

Katrina Kaif shared a poster on Instagram, featuring herself and Vijay, announcing the release date and expressing the production team’s decision to shorten the wait for Christmas. It marks the first collaboration between Vijay Sethupathi and Katrina Kaif in a Tamil film. The posters showcased the looks of both actors, with a Hindi text near a taxi saying, Raat jitni sangeen hogi, subah utni rangeen hogi (The more serious the night, the more colorful the morning).

The posters depicted night time scenes in the city, with a mysterious figure carrying a soft toy on his back at various spots like cinema halls and bakeries. Vijay also shared the poster for the Tamil version of Merry Christmas, featuring him and Katrina with a red effect. He expressed his excitement for this first-time collaboration with Katrina in a Tamil film.

Directed by Sriram Raghavan, known for his neo-noir thrillers, Merry Christmas marks Katrina’s first project with Vijay. It is Sriram’s first film since the award-winning Andhadhun (2018), starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu, and Radhika Apte. The film promises to be another suspenseful thriller with a twist. The Hindi version will feature Sanjay Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Pratima Kannan, and Tinnu Anand, while the Tamil version includes Radhika Sarathkumar, Shanmugaraja, Kevin Jay Babu, and Rajesh Williams. Child actor Ashwini Kalsekar and Radhika Apte will be seen in exciting cameos. Reportedly, the crime thriller will revolve around an uneventful day that turns Katrina and Vijay’s worlds upside down. It is about an event that takes place on Christmas Eve.
