Over the next three days, most areas of northwest India will continue to see Heavy rain, according to the weather department.

According to the IMD, a western disturbance was in charge over northern India yesterday, causing a severe downpour that included Delhi, which saw the first significant amount of rain this season.

The national capital had traffic bottlenecks in many locations due to flooding. The city and its surrounding areas had heavy rain today as well.

The ceiling of a flat collapsed on a 58-year-old woman in Delhi, which took her life on the spot. In Rajasthan, four individuals died as a result of rain-related occurrences during one day.

More than nine districts in Rajasthan, including Rajsamand, Jalore, Pali, Ajmer, Alwar, Banswara, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Bundi, Chittorgarh, Dausa, Dhaulpur, Jaipur, and Kota, have received very severe rainfall predictions from the Met department.

After three days of nonstop rain and landslides, the annual Amarnath Yatra has been put on hold, trapping thousands of pilgrims in Jammu and other locations along the path to the cave shrine.

Following the blocking of numerous highways in Shimla, Sirmaur, Lahaul and Spiti, Chamba, and Solan by landslides and flash floods, the weather office has issued a red alert for seven districts in Himachal Pradesh.

In addition, Haryana and Punjab experienced heavy showers as temperatures in the two states fell below average, according to the weather office. Rain fell all day long in Chandigarh, the capital of the two states.

IMD has now issued an orange alert for six districts in Kerala. Idukki, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasaragode are all expected to see heavy to very heavy monsoon rains today, according to the IMD. Heavy rains earlier on Wednesday toppled large trees in various areas of the state, causing damage to homes, cars, and electrical lines as well as hours of traffic backups as a result of the fallen trees.
