After Alia Bhatt, Jahnvi Kapoor shares account of snoopy media

Janhvi Kapoor slams a publication house for continuously attacking her private boundaries, doing unaware photography

After Alia Bhatt called out a media house for sharing her private pictures from her home’s balcony, the entire Bollywood came in her support and shared similar incidents when the paparazzi crossed all the limits and hindered their private space. Janhvi Kapoor took to Instagram to share her own experience and called the media house ‘disgustingly intrusive’.

Reposting Alia’s story, she shared that the same media house clicked pictures of her through a glass door when she was working out at the gym. She said it was disgustingly intrusive. She added that the same publication has repeatedly done things like this, and despite her continuous requests, has photographed her unaware, inside the gym where she works out, through the glass door. She said the gym and other such places are a space that is supposed to be private and one does not anticipate getting photographed there.

The Mili actress also slammed the publication for attacking actors unaware in their private time, and added that she understands showing up to places in plain sight of doing the paparazzi’s job, where there is a mutual understanding of the job of the photographers, and the job and requirements of being a public figure but the stealthiness, zooming into someone’s private space without their consent or even awareness and calling it exclusive as if it’s a journalistic accomplishment is far from it.

Actors like Anushka Sharma and Arjun Kapoor, and filmmaker Karan Johar also shared the story asking the paparazzi to behave better and urging the police to take appropriate actions.

In an alike incident a few days ago, singer Sonu Nigam and two colleagues were assaulted by a fan to click a selfie while coming down the stage after his concert in Mumbai’s Chembur area. While the singer and his bodyguard fell off the stairs, his friend was reportedly thrown off the stage. Sonu said it was a close save for him, but the incident was “madness” and “violent”.
