Users call for boycott of Amazon as the hashtag trends on Twitter, here is why?

On Saturday, the social media website, Twitter, surged with calls for a boycott against the company of the second richest man in the world, Jeff Bezos. According to reports, the call for a boycott came after the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights ( NCPRC) summoned the Vice President and Country head of Amazon India on 16th October after alleging that Jeff Bezos company has been monetarily aiding an organization that converts children toward Christianity.

The call for a boycott came as a ramification after the story of Amazon India funding an evangelist group that illegally converts Indian children came to light. The users have been enraged by the involvement of Amazon with such companies and have even speculated a bigger concocted vendetta against Hindus by Amazon India.

On Saturday, the hashtag boycott of Amazon has been of the top trending thing in the country. Many users came forward enraged by the news as one user informed us that whatever we buy from Amazon India, a small part of it goes directly to Christian NGOs that convert children into Christians. The user further added that such users should be banned while adding such practices hurt the sentiments of the Hindu community.

Another user added to the conversation as they came forward and urged the people that country should preserve the Hindu Culture and buy from Local shops. The user further added his conservative view of people should only buy Hindu, and employ Hindus and that will be how the Hindu culture will be preserved.

More users added to their takes on the ongoing Twitter commotion against Amazon more users joined hands to raise calls of Boycotting Amazon India.

Another user added a funnier take as they wrote that they are waiting for Amazon to come up with a big discount to counter the narrative of a sect of Twitter that believes the conversion of people into another religion is a threat to Hinduism.

The boycott call does disregard article 25 of the Indian constitution which assures that any person in India has the liberty to choose his/hers/ their religion freely as well as practice their respective religion. The notion of people being abrasive toward the idea of conversion is a complete violation of other people’s article 25 in the Indian constitution.
