The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has come up with a new idea to swoon over their travelers. IRCTC has introduced a special fasting menu for the passengers who will ne fasting during the Shardiya Navratri.

Latest reports suggest that the Indian Railways have come up with a new Vrat Thali for the fasting passengers travelling by trains during the Navratri festival which begins on September 26, 2022. This special Thali will be made available to railway passengers across 400 railway stations in India during the nine days of Shardiya Navratri.

For the unversed, the Shardiya Navratri in the Hindu month of Ashwin, which is the most important of all Navratris (Magha, Chaitra and Ashadha). And for these 9 days, devotees will practice fasting as each day will be dedicated to the celebration of goddess Durga’s all 9 avatars (Shailaputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandamata, Katyayani, Kaalaratri, Mahagauri, and Durga).

And now IRCTC will also provide Vrat Thali during Shardiya Navratri, the passengers fasting will now have some more relief. The food cooked in Indian Railways will be cooked without onion and garlic and is prepared with rock salt. And the IRCTC PRO Anand Kumar Jha said that the special Vrat Thali has been introduced for passengers who worry about food and drinks during the fasting period. He also assured that If there are demands, the Vrat Thali will also continued further.

Charges for Vrat Thali

Fruit Thali: Fruits, Buckwheat Pakori, Curd – 99 Rs.

Mini Thali: 2 parathas, potato curry, sago pudding – 99 Rs.

Full Thali: 4 parathas, 3 vegetables, sago khichdi – 150 Rs.

Mega Thali: Paneer Paratha, Vrat Masala, Singhada, and Aloo Paratha – 250 Rs.

Passengers travelling in Indian railways can order special Vrat Thali can make the bookings through the IRCTC app. Passengers can also visit the website www.ecatering.irctc.co.in, or book their order by calling 1323.
