Gurugram traffic police says they do not have option of WFH, government issues work-from-home advisory to offices

After the thunderstorm and rain in the Delhi-NCR region, pictures of the submerged roads and heavy traffic were witnessed across Gurugram and other parts of the NCR region. In Haryana’s Gurugram, there were waterlogged stretches in the millennium city including the area near DLF phase 1 Metro, Kanhai Chowk, Bakhtawar chowk, and MDI Chowk, among other areas.

Due to this, people were facing problems but the traffic police came to the rescue. Gurugram police said that their traffic officials are on the spot to facilitate the traffic flow and the commuters are requested to plan their travel accordingly.

Gurugram traffic police also wrote that they do not have the option but those who do, may consider exercising the option to work from home. The note further read that Gurgaon police is on the roads to assist people.

Meanwhile, the Gurugram administration also advised private institutions and corporate offices to guide their employees to work from home to avoid traffic congestion on roads.

In the advisory it was mentioned that it has been intimated by India Meteorological Department, Meteorological Centre, Chandigarh that there is the possibility of light to moderated rain with thunderstorm lightning and gusty wind ( 40-50 kmph) likely over Gurgaon district and adjoining areas throughout today i.e. 23.05.2022. The situation may lead to waterlogging and the falling of trees at specific locations in the city. Therefore, private institutions/Corporate Offices are advised to guide their employees to work from home for today 1.e. 23.05.2022 so that traffic congestion on roads can be avoided and repair renovation works of civil amenities can be done smoothly by the Government agencies.

The temperature in Delhi-NCR dropped by 11 degrees celsius and that has given relief from the heatwave to the people. It is reported that the temperature is likely to drop by a few notches in the coming days.
