AAP MP Sanjay Singh’s Delhi residence vandalised, 2 arrested for defacing nameplate

The Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh on Tuesday said his residence, which is metres away from the Rashtrapati Bhawan in the North Avenue high-security area, was vandalised by unidentified persons.

Singh alleged that the attack was linked to his stand against an alleged scam involving the Ram Mandir Trust in buying a piece of land for the temple in Ayodhya at an inflated price.

Right after the attack, the AAP MP tweeted that his house has been attacked. In his tweet Singh said he will not allow the robbery of donations collected for Ram Mandir construction even if get killed for this. Singh also said he will not be scared and shall continue exposing this scam being done in the name of lord Shri Ram.

In a video message released after the incident, the AAP MP said, such attacks do not scare him. He said he will continue to raise his voice against corruption committed in the name of Lord Ram, no matter how many times the BJP and its goons attacked him even get murdered him.

He said this is insulting to the 115 crore Hindus to all those devotees of lord Ram who made donations for the Ram Mandir construction.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Police also took to Twitter and said an attempt was made to deface the nameplate at the residence of Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh. In this regard, two persons have been detained while no physical injury has been reported in the incident, the police wrote on twitter. Further investigation is on.

The opposition parties has been pointing out irregularity in the purchase of land at Ayodhya by the Ram Mandir trust and alleged misappropriation of funds collected for its construction. Similarly, Singh had also held a press conference on Sunday in Lucknow where he had sought a CBI and Enforcement Directorate probe into the matter.

Reacting to the allegations of irregularity in the purchase of land at Ayodhya by the Ram temple trust, Champat Rai, the general Secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust on Tuesday, dismissing the allegations, said the cost of the land compared to its area is Rs 1,423 per sq feet, which is less than market value. He also said the transactions were done using net banking to avoid any misuse of government taxes.
