Enraged Vice Ganda hits back at basher

Filipino Star News | Filipino-American Community Newspaper

An enraged Vice Ganda reacted to a basher who commented on the death of Hashtags member Franco Hernandez, who was a drowning victim. He said, “Sana si Jon Lucas (another member) na lang ang namatay.” While mourning Franco’s demise, Vice Ganda said, “Napaka-walang hiya ng basher, no respect at all to all of us at ‘It’s Showtime.’”

Incidentally, there’s a possibility of a remake of the movie “Darna Kuno,” a gay hero well enacted by the late Dolphy. Not a few have said that the lead role could be a toss-up between Vice Ganda and Paolo Ballesteros. But there are those who opine that Paolo fits better for he’s more gorgeous than Vice Ganda, not to mention his credential of being recognized as the Best Actor in “Die Beautiful” in a world film fest, an accolade Vice Ganda has yet to achieve.

Queried about the comparison, Vice Ganda kept but if offered, he might accept the role.

No stormy marriage for Sharon and Kiko

Due to talks that Senator Kiko Pangilinan has opted to stay in his farm house without Sharon Cuneta, rumors have it that the two have separated. This prompted Kiko to use pictures with his moments with Sharon taken by their eight-year-old son Miguel for the annual family Christmas card. This means nothing has changed whatsoever with the couple’s relationship.

On this, Sharon commented, “What else is new? We’re always talked about. Look, our togetherness remains sustainable as we are blessed with beautiful children.”

Meanwhile, Kiko felt happy for the huge success of Sharon’s new film, “Unexpectedly Yours,” that regained back her confidence in her showbiz career.

Rayver Cruz still with ABS-CBN

A seemingly exasperated Rayver Cruz broke his silence one talks that his contract with ABS-CBN has expired and that he would transfer to GMA-7. He said that he’s taping the latest Kapamilya network TV series “Bagani,” starred by Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano. And he has an ongoing agreement with ABS-CBN.

At least, Rayver admitted that for some time now he has been courting and dating Kapuso network star Janine Gutierrez. “But definitely, we’re not yet on a relationship. I’m glad though that her mom Lotlot de Leon is not against me. It’s a plus factor in my favor. Pero di ako nagmamadaling maging nobya siya,” Rayver was quoted as saying.

If I were Santa Claus…

If I were Santa Claus, I would give the following celebrities these Christmas gifts:

Vice Ganda and Alex Gonzaga — a book on proper behavior that would make them shun accusations about their misdemeanor and arrogance.

Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza — to sustain their popularity even in case the two opt to part ways as love team.

Pia Wurtzbach — a dramatic starrer after a successful sexy lead role that proves her acting competence like that of former Miss Universe Gloria Diaz.

Alonzo Muhlach — a blockbuster solo movie to prove he couldl emerge as another child wonder, a heir apparent of his dad Nino Muhlach whose success has not been duplicated by any child performers.

Blind item:

The press conference on a film was marred with the improper behavior by one of its cast. Her action in front of writers on her differences with the lead actress was uncalled for with an obvious intention to put to shame the actress. For several minutes, the one in charge of the confab could not control her.

Good thing, a co-actor defused the tension with a comical relief, saying funny words that ignited laughter from the press people, the cast, director and the staff.

Emily and Erick have impressive records

Through actress-director Beverly Vergel, this columnist met in person the lead star of the first Fil-Canadian flick “Living Instead” Emily Bolanos, a model and a producer as well. For her role in the movie, she received the Best Actress award at the Barcelona Film Festival in Spain, Hollywood Boulevard Film Festival and Brazil’s MAC Underground Film Festival. This recognition qualified her to be featured in the award-winning Toronto opus “Crimson Sands” and TV show “Mom vs Matchmaker.” She also became an ad endorser for Scotiabank, Starbucks, etc.

Before “Living Instead,” Erick Zonio used to be a member of the FEU Theater Guild, a model who paraded on runways in U.S. and Canada, and part of Toronto’s Men’s Fashion Week, and was discovered by ICON Model Management. He was nominated for Best Actor at the Barcelona Film Festival.

Both are grateful to film’s director Beverly who tirelessly mentored them on the rudiments of intense performance. As a result, Beverly garnered Best Director awards in the said film fests, plus the Canadian Indie Film Festival.

Hot items:

Singer-actor Eric Santos and his manager Erickson Raymundo filed 37 counts of cyber libel charges against writer-radio host Joebert Sucaldito. The two said that many times Joebert threw malicious implications at their allegedly gay acts. And that they forcibly got projects from other management groups. At this writing, Joebert refused to comment.

With a grin, Kris Aquino clarified the reason she turned down an offer to appear in “The Revenger Squad,” Vice Ganda’s film for the Metro Manila Film Festival 2017. “I’m not in a tiff with him, not angry for impersonating me. You see, my supposed role is a kontrabida. I don’t want to create negative vibes on screen. That’s it.”
