Weekly Recommendation: A Mix of Audio and Visual, Contemporary and Classical

The Garner Historic District easily contains the coolest buildings and best reason to visit Garnerville, the cozy hamlet off 9W, that is often accidentally overlooked by edgy contemporary classical music lovers. The vast and connected industrial complex -- a former grist mill, Turned Textile Mill, turned Civil War uniform factory, turned textile mill, turned World War II uniform factory, turned textile mill, turned one of the many empty ghosts of the American textile industry -- is now home to the jewel of the regional beer scene, Industrial Arts, a well-regarded restaurant, Hudson Mill Tavern, as well as the Garner Arts Center. This weekend, the arts center relaunches its Contemporary Classical series on Saturday, March 12 (doors open 7:30 pm). An Evening with J. Pavone String Ensemble will feature a concert by the critically acclaimed musicians with enveloping projections by video designer and composer, John Gasper, in the Dye Works event space in the landmark Garner Historic District in Garnerville.
