Adapted from Alice Walker’s novel, this classic paints a portrait of life for 1930 Black women. Woven into the sprawling narrative is the queer romance between Celie and Shug.

Eloise’s Lover (2009), available July 1 on Hulu

This Spanish-language romantic drama follows the romance between Eloise and Asia — and the tragedy that left Asia in a coma.

Death Becomes Her (1992), available July 1 on HBO

Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn hold nothing back in this treasured entry in the queer canon. Meryl, Goldie and Isabella Rossellini all have their diva-levels cranked up to 11, and Bruce Willis pulls a Charlize Theron as the nebbish man caught between them.

Showgirls (1995), available July 1 on HBO

Make it a campy double-feature with this deliciously terrible piece of pulp cinema. The plot is insane, the cast is unhinged and the dialogue is nigh unintelligible. Crack open some Alpo, don your Ver-sayce and get ready to be taken to “DIFFERENT PLACES!”
