Bianca Wu

A lot of people are looking for something different and timelier in the Music scene. That is exactly what Bianca Wu has to offer. A popular Canto-jazz singer in Hong Kong, this beautiful lady is taking the musical world in China by storm.

She was born in Szechuan, raised in Guangzhou, and studied in the New York Film Academy for her graduate degree. She took up film production and acting, and from there, also developed her love and talent for jazz and music.

At first, she was also not very much into the Music Scene. Her friends in New York introduced her to shows in places that let live bands play, like Smalls and Iridium. This is where jazz teased her, and eventually courted her into the whole picture. She found herself falling in love with the music and slowly incorporating more complex elements as time went on.

Bianca Wu launched her music in Hong Kong in 2006, and she was well received by the public. She immediately garnered recognition as the IFPI Best Selling New Female Artist Awardee in that year. After a while, she released her own albums, and even worked with other talents in the jazz industry. Her collaborations are pretty notable and lovely to listen to. Great names she has worked with include Harry Whitaker for “What a Wonderful World”, Johnny Yim and Jun Kung for song arrangement and drums, respectively, for the song “One Person”, and Chet Lam for “Hand, Heart”. This has increased her artistic credibility and has given her the chance to even widen her grasp of the whole industry.

Apart from all these, she had a starring role as Dorothy in ‘The Wizard of Oz”. She also performed in the Sha Tin Hall with the Hong Kong Children’s Choir. All this exposure will quickly make her a household name in Hong Kong, apart from the fact that her talent is undeniable.
