7 Surprising Features of The DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise Series

Compact, portable, and powerful, the Mavic 3E (M3E) drone is cleverly engineered for day-to-day operations. So, whether you’re a hobbyist pilot ready to go pro or searching for an adaptable solution to reinforce your commercial fleet, the Mavic 3E is in a league of its own.

The functionality of the Mavic 3E makes it DJI’s most accessible and professional surveying drone to date. A thermal edition is also available – the Mavic 3T, designed with public safety, inspection, and night-time missions in mind.

Here are our top seven features that distinguish the Mavic 3 Enterprise Series as the ultimate portable and professional drone system.

Two models, Endless Applications

The DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise Series is available in two models, the M3E and the M3T. The M3T has a 48MP Wide-Angle camera, DJI’s top-of-the-line 640 512 thermal sensors, and the same 12MP 56x Hybrid Zoom camera as the M3E.

You can use isotherms, colour palettes, high-temperature warnings, point and area temperature readings, and high-temperature alerts to identify targets and make intelligent decisions during night-time flights, firefighting operations, and search and rescue operations.

The thermal and zoom cameras on the Mavic 3T provide 28x continuous, side-by-side zoom for simple in-flight comparisons, giving you instant access to the capability of synchronised split-screen zoom.

New camera for rapid and precise surveys

The M3E is engineered to decrease the time to complete aerial surveys without compromising data accuracy and output quality. The Mavic 3E delivers just that, equipped with a wide-angle 4/3 CMOS, 20MP sensor and a mechanical shutter that reduces motion blur during survey flights. The new camera also allows for rapid 0.7-second interval shooting so that you can complete mapping missions in a fraction of the time compared to previous models.

DJI have solved low-light difficulties, as well. The Mavic 3E’s wide camera flaunts 3.3μm pixels with enhanced low-light software, boosting performance in low-light settings and significantly increasing your potential operational window. These capabilities enabled early and late operations and surveys on cloudy days without sacrificing image quality.

Last but undoubtedly not least, the M3E is outfitted with a 12MP Zoom camera that supports up to 56× Max Hybrid Zoom. Operators can identify details from a distance using a smooth, continuous stream rather than staggered zoom increases.

We expect the M3E to become the go-to platform for quick aerial surveys by combining an RTK module with a mechanical shutter, short 0.7-second interval shooting, and superior low-light performance.

Lightweight and Portable

The M3E was founded on the Mavic 3 platform, which launched at the end of 2021 to global praise and transformed the industry’s perceptions of small aircraft.

The M3E goes above these core capabilities by incorporating some pretty outstanding features with its foldable and lightweight design.

Ideal for novices, the M3E is a flexible tool for existing drone projects because it can be carried in one hand and deployed instantly. DJI has always prioritised mobility without compromising on power. You can complete each mission with the M3E flying for 45 minutes at a time. It can survey an area of up to 2 square kilometres in a single flight.

Robust safety and connectivity

When you need it most, the M3E puts safety and performance first. With sophisticated obstacle detection and navigation technologies, the Mavic 3 Enterprise provides commercial pilots with guidance and safety nets to limit the risk of incidents.

DJI’s Advanced Pilot Assistance System (APAS) uses data from two wide-angle sensors and six vision sensors to detect objects from all angles, automatically rerouting your flight path when in Avoidance Mode. You can adjust the distance between these triggers and the aircraft’s braking distance to suit your needs. APAS also guides the M3E’s intelligent Return to Home feature, which coordinates and executes the most convenient, efficient return trip possible.

If you’re assisting with emergency operations or performing inspections, the M3E’s integrated AirSense technology alerts pilots to nearby crewed aircraft transmitting ADS-B signals.

DJI’s latest photo transmission technology is integrated into the M3E’s connection. Under challenging conditions, quad-antenna O3 Enterprise Transmission allows for more reliable communication between the pilot and the aircraft.

Enhanced Flight Efficiency and Mission Execution

Professional drone pilots understand that time is money and, in an emergency, a few minutes can be the difference between life and death.

As a result, the Mavic 3 Enterprise series was created with operational efficiency in mind. In addition to its excellent 45-minute flying time, DJI has reduced mission disruptions with 100W fast charging and a three-battery 100W charging station that provides pilots with enough batteries to maintain a nearly constant airborne presence when necessary.

For aerial surveys, 0.7-second interval shooting enables mapping operations to be accomplished within a quarter of the required time.

These features make the M3E an excellent platform for rapid response missions and time-sensitive surveys.

New and Improved Accessories

A range of accessories are available for the M3E to help enterprise users and commercial drone pilots optimise their operations. The M3E is compatible with the new DJI RC Pro Enterprise, a powerful remote controller with good screen visibility in direct light, a built-in microphone, and a Text-To-Speech function for direct communication between the pilot and anybody in the vicinity of the aircraft.

A new and improved Loudspeaker provides more volume while using less battery power than before; pilots can record messages directly through the remote controller or use the built-in text-to-voice capabilities.

Along with the D-RTK 2 Mobile Station, a new lightweight RTK module enables detailed surveys and centimetre-level accuracy.

With the Beacon attachment from the Mavic 2 Enterprise Series now wholly integrated into the M3E, you can comply with local regulations during night flights and missions that need low light levels without using an accessory slot.

Powerful Software and Developer Tools

The M3E is linked to powerful software throughout the DJI Enterprise ecosystem to provide the full range of in-flight capabilities, payload management, mission planning, and fleet analytics. Flighthub 2 and Pilot 2 software simplify flight management and make each flight feel more natural. DJI Terra unlocks the full mapping capability of an already remarkable aerial surveying device. DJI’s Thermal Analysis Tool 3.0 unleashes the M3 T’s ability to support more intelligent inspections.

DJI is also committed to giving developers access to the M3E. If you want to build on top of the M3E, the Payload SDK and Mobile SDK make it easier to add external payloads and develop on top of the DJI Pilot 2 application. If you’re creating your own solution, DJI’s Cloud API allows programmers to combine the hardware, video feed, and photo data from the M3E with third-party applications.

Redefining Small Commercial Drones

Despite its compact size, the M3E promises to revolutionise surveying and provide a versatile operating platform for any drone programme.

DJI’s most current enterprise platform has changed the industry standard for “small” commercial drones. By combining a mechanical shutter, a 56x zoom camera, and an RTK module with a mobile but powerful platform, the Mavic 3E pushes mission efficiency to new heights.
