Welcome to the final blog post about my trip to Cuba. It has taken me almost two whole months to post all of the pictures I wanted to but I managed it. If you want to check out Part 1, Part 2 or Part 3 just click the links. This part of my trip to Cuba will focus on a trip I took to Varadero which is the town closest to the Resort and will include some pictures I took around the resort as well. I am also trying something new by putting captions under each Photo instead of explaining everything up here.
The first picture in this post is of a classic old Cuban car and a church I saw in Varadero. I thought this was a very Cuban picture with the church and the car together in one picture.
The two photos are of lizards I saw while talking around the town. I am not sure what the first species of lizard is in the first photo. The second lizard is called Allison's Anole.
The photo of the old black car I took as I liked the look and the quality of the car.
Moving away from cars for a photo, the following photo is of the gated entrance to someone's home. I just liked the ironwork and the little roof over the gate.
Heading back to cars one last time, this photo is of the taxi that took us back to the resort from the town. Each ride costs 20 Cuban Pasos so overall a trip from and back to the resort would cost 40 Cuban Pasos.
The Palm Warbler is shown here sitting under one of the bushes at the resort. I saw a couple different kinds of birds around the resort but I only managed to grab this photo.
This cactus tree is a national monument on Cuba due to being what they claim the largest cactus tree on the island. It will cost you two Cuban Pasos to get in and see it however I thought it was worth it as it is unlike anything around Canada. There was also a lot of wildlife surrounding the tree such as lizards, birds, and butterflies.
This is my favourite photo I took while in Cuba I think as I have added it to my portfolio. In this picture, you can see a Cuban Green Anole climbing on the Giant Cactus Tree that was in the previous photo. I like this photo as the Anole isn't straight it is on an angle and the tree bark itself is slanted which adds to the photo in my opinion. You are also able to see the spikes on the tree.
At the giant cactus tree, I was also able to grab this photo of a White Peacock butterfly drinking from a flower. This butterfly flew around this flower for a while then landed and started to slowly turn towards me as I sat there snapping photos of it. I like this side view more than the head on one as you are able to see more detail on its wings.
What better way to end a blog series on Cuba than with a beach picture. Shown here is the beach at the resort with the white sand and light blue water. Unforcutally there are some clouds as it was late afternoon. Overall I highly recommend this resort and overall the country of Cuba as the people are very nice and it is extremely safe.
