Virtually any item can be fixed and spare parts can be found in the many small specialized repair shops all over Paris. What at first sight looked like a dolls morgue turned out to be a repair shop that even fixes umbrellas.
It was a strange sensation seeing the dismembered plastic vinyl dolls so popular around the middle of last century. Many of the dolls had hair but the ones with hair moulded into the plastic vinyl were always to me the most frightning, their creepy deep set eyes stared out with evil intent like the ones with blank Zombie like stares, they reminded me of some horror I didn't quite understand except through stories told. Now I would relate them to horror movies. Standing here in the doorway I recalled why I had rejected playing with them and instead placed them in a curboard box under my bed.
