Horn owl shaped Japanese doll

I bought this cute Doll at the Edo-Tokyo Museum.

This doll resembes a horned owl. The museum designed it from a woodblock print by Japanese artist, Kuniyoshi Utagawa. In The Edo era,When babies or kids got sick, their parents put red things such as drawings, toys, or dolls next to their pillows.

Red was believed to protect people from evil.Even now, the color red has a lot of significance.

This doll is tiny. I put an acorn for scale. Kawaii!
