Grooms guide to looking his best in wedding photos. Absolutely!!!

Grooms Guide to Hair

What’s the first thing your bride going to see when she walks down the aisle? YOU.  And the thing she wants to admire the most during that moment is her husband looking the best possible (and most-polished) version of his everyday self. The first place to start for your pre-wedding prep should be your hair.

While a wild new cut or color isn’t the best option for the big day, a good cleanup of an existing cut is essential to add a dose of polish to your look. Just don’t do it the day before the wedding, as you want to make sure you’re comfortable with the cut and how to style it. Have your Hair cut a week before your nothing new or different?  Your style should be planned and ideally refreshed.

If you are really ready for a big change and want to use your wedding as a big reveal? Talk it over with your partner first. This way it is more of a surprise than a shock on the wedding day.  You want to feel your best on the day.

Grooms Guide to Nails

I know your hands won’t be the first thing people look at during your wedding. But there is nothing worse than a nicely turned-out groom with rough cuticles and dirt  surprised by how relaxing the service is and they love the ‘polished’ look.

Looking for a full-body reboot before the full day of festivities? Book a few extra treatments, too such as a facial or a message.

For those spa-savvy grooms, a facial … treatment one week before the big day, will leave the Skin glowing and lifted

Grooms guide to Skin

Your skin is obviously a big part of your look. But it can also be the most difficult to control. That’s why experts recommend upping your skin-care game a few weeks before the wedding day.

To ensure you are looking your best on the big day, it’s important to start prepping a grooming routine three to four weeks before you walk down the aisle.  This will give enough time to clear up any breakouts/bumps, ensuring a smooth, healthy look.

Begin by selecting a powerful cleanser to exfoliate and remove impurities. This will also help with ingrown hairs, razor bumps, and irritation.  It’s also important to hydrate after cleansing and shaving, especially in the days leading up to the wedding, for smooth, soft skin.

On the big day, men should consider incorporating a product into their routine to help keep oil and shine at bay throughout the day’s events, especially because there will be so many photos taken.

On the actual wedding day, after cleansing the face, use a toning product that removes impurities, tightens pores, and helps reduce shine to keep skin matte and picture-perfect.  Next, use a very light moisturizer to absorb oil. This will also help reflect the light off the skin for a more matte look — perfect for photo-ops and wedding season heat.

Short on time for skincare?  The most important element of a man’s skin routine should involve a cleanser tailored to his skin type and concerns. This will help soothe the skin and ward off any unwanted flare-ups. And help you to feel your best on one of the biggest days of your life — and beyond.

Of course, you want to look your best for photos and videos, the assembled guests, and your new wife, but it’s also important to take care of your skin to feel good about yourself and have that extra confidence boost on your wedding day.

Grooms Guide to Spot Troubles

So, what should you do if you discover a blemish a few days before the big day?

Do: If you are able to, visit a dermatologist. He or she may be able to inject your acne lesion with a steroid to reduce the inflammation and flatten it out. Results are typically seen within 24-72 hours. This is often called the “Hollywood treatment” since dermatologists have been known to treat actors for acne cysts before filming.

Do: Consider applying a topical cream or lotion such as benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid, which can kill the bacteria that contribute to acne, reduce inflammation and help unclog blocked pores.

Don’t: Pop it! This is easier said than done, but if you pick at a pimple it can make the redness and inflammation worse and may lead to slower healing and increased risk of scarring.

Don’t: While toothpaste, garlic, and lemon juice have all been reported as home remedies for blemishes, I would advise against them as they’re less predictable and may irritate or over-dry your skin.

On the big day

Wake up with a blemish on your wedding day? While it’s not ideal, it’s also not the end of the world (or the wedding).

Do: You can try applying a small amount of cortisone cream directly on the spot to reduce redness and inflammation.

Do: Ice is another option that may help reduce the appearance of a blemish. Ice can constrict blood vessels to reduce swelling and inflammation. Ice can be applied intermittently — for example, a few minutes on and then off — either directly to the skin or within a clean towel.

Do: When all else fails, a little cover-up makeup can be applied to improve the appearance.
