Engagement Session at the New Jersey Botanical Gardens and Skylands Manor

You know what I’m afraid of? Hairy spiders, my local Chipotle closing shop, and vampire movies. You know what I’m NOT afraid of? PDA. In fact, I am all about it, especially when I’m photographing a gorgeous and super-in-love couple like Jillian and Eli, who were constantly stealing kisses and wrapping themselves up in each other throughout our engagement session!

Our Engagement Session at The New Jersey Botanical Garden, and then we moved to Skylands Manor to change things up a little bit. I love that I didn’t have to prompt them at all to lean in and get close, either. Can’t you feel that passion and heat through your screen? YOWZA!

I asked these two about their love story, and Jillian told me How did you two Meet?

We met within the first few weeks of our freshman year of college. We were both hanging out with our own friends, but once we started talking, we talked and laughed for the rest of the night. Now we are celebrating 8 years of dating this month (September)!

As for the proposal, It was a nice, peaceful day out at Brotherhood Winery. We walked around the property and then found a beautiful, rustic gazebo. We were talking for a few minutes, then suddenly Eli took my hands and got down on one knee! For the first time in my life, I was absolutely SPEECHLESS! After the shock wore off, we drove to our favorite restaurant where Eli had planned the most beautiful surprise engagement party with almost all of our family and friends! It was the most special day of our lives.

Why did you decide on this location for your e-shoot?

One day we had gone on a date to The New Jersey Botanical Gardens and loved walking around the flowers. We knew it was a special place that would match our vision for the photos so we decided to do our Engagement Session at The New Jersey Botanical Gardens

Tell me about the details you’re most excited about for your upcoming wedding!

We both agree that we cannot wait to see each other for the first time at the church. The first time we see each other will be when I walk down the aisle. We also cannot wait to finally be married, after 8 years of dating.

Where are you getting married and where is the reception? Why did you choose these locations?

The ceremony will be at our local church, which is the same church where Jillian’s parents got married 37 years ago. It’s called Saint Joan of Arc Church, in Sloatsburg NY. The reception is at The Rockleigh Country Club, and we knew from the moment we walked in that it was the dream location to celebrate our wedding at.

What did you each wear to your engagement session?

At our Engagement session at the New Jersey Botanical Gardens Jillian wore white jeans with a white floral top. Eli wore jeans and a gray button-down top.

What kind of look were you going for?

We wanted a romantic, natural, garden vibe for our shoot.

Do you have any tips or advice for other couples about to have engagement photos taken?

Definitely do it! This is such a special, amazing time in your lives, and to have photos which capture these memories is important.

How was your overall session experience?

It was phenomenal. Any time that we get to spend together is so cherished, and Jerry was so much fun to work with. We felt special and important the whole time.

DANG! Congratulations on getting hitch in the coming months, Jillian and Eli. May you forever have a relationship filled with passion and love!
