Tell us how you first met? Who what when where why? Give us the dirty Details.

We both went to Kean University. Ricky was in a fraternity “Sigma Beta Tau”. Although I was never in a sorority, all of my best friends were in a sister sorority “Nu Theta Chi”. We were at many of the same parties and definitely knew of each other. One Sunday afternoon, my job at Charlie Brown’s called me told me that we were permanently closed and I no longer had a job. I immediately went out in search for a job around the University area and applied for a position at Olive Garden and got it! This is where Ricky and I try began to connect. We worked together closely and went out together at night with the Olive Garden team. We quickly became friends and bonded over our favorite beer at the time (Blue Moon) and called each other twins! I was at first not very interested in going out with Ricky as I was still in my having fun stage and had other priorities. Ricky kept pushing and pushing, no matter how much I pushed back and I finally agreed to our first date at Arirang (Hibachi Place). After this, it was all downhill!

Tell us about the proposal. (Did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning? how did you feel? nervous, excited, freaking out?)                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             Ricky told me that we would be going out to dinner on Friday, June 3rd with his family after work. Me getting out of work earlier than him, went on over to his Aunt’s house to wait for him (which is right around the corner from his job). I sat there and chatted with his Aunt until Ricky got there after work. Once he got there his Aunt let us know she needed to run across the street to the neighbor’s house and that she would be right back. Before leaving she let us know not to go in the back room because she just shampooed the rugs. Once his Aunt left, Ricky began to go in the back room and of course, being the usual control freak I am, I began to yell and say “You never listen, everything someone says goes in one ear and out the other. She just told us not to go in the back room”. Once we entered the back room, it was set up with fruit, cheese, snacks, and champagne. I was in utter shock as Ricky got down on one knee and began to propose. I can’t even remember word for word what he said because all I was thinking was “Dammit Marybeth, your bossy self-ruined another cute moment”. As I looked over in this cute and most memorable moment in my life, I see my dog eating and licking everything on the table. The story of our lives. I then said yes and then we began to run and tell our close friends and family before we, of course, made it “social media official”. His aunt and dad brought us out to dinner to celebrate and then, later on, we met our close friends at our favorite bar, Blackthorn to celebrate. This memory will forever be with me and describes our relationship perfectly. Ricky trying to do something cute, and me always yelling. I always tell him, “I can wait to spend the rest of my life yelling at you”  Ricky was originally supposed to propose in Baltimore as we were taking a long weekend there to go see a Yankees game. He then decided to make it a more private and personal moment.

A  luxury wedding photographer does not always mean an expensive photography. Some of the best NJ wedding photographers are affordable.

Tell us the one thing you love most about each other.

Marybeth’s Answer: His ability to put his whole heart into everything no matter what it is – From work to fish tanks. Ricky’s Answer: Ability to put other’s before herself

If you feel comfortable, share with us something silly or quirky the other person does.

One of the silliest things that we both do is: We love our dog uncontrollably and have come up with about 5-7 songs that we sing about him/to him. It’s become quite the inside joke.

Besides getting married -What is the one thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day?

Marybeth’s Answer: The Dessert! Ricky’s Answer: The speeches

I have always loved neutral colors, however, have never been a sparkle and shine kind of person. Once I found my dress and LOVED it beyond my disbelief, I knew that my wedding had to match its glamorous look and feel.

Why did you pick your Wedding Venue, What Attracted you.

The “wow” factor is what pulled us in, then once we were in, the excellent customer service closed the deal. When speaking with our sales person Christie Sa’, she was able to answer every single one of my questions with the answer “yes” (unlike many of the other venues that we looked at)
