As part of our blog, we interview the bride and groom about their wedding experience. This is what they said:

• Tell us about the bride Where you grew up went to school, where you work.

  Born on Long Island, moved to NJ when I was 5. Grew up in Flanders. I went to Marist College in Poughkeepsie NY. I work at NYP-Columbia University Medical Center in the Blood Bank.

• Tell us about the Groom Where you grew up went to school, where you work.

  Was adopted from South Korea when he was 3 months old. Grew up in Randolph NJ. Attended FDU in Madison. He is Assistant Deputy Director for NJ Consumer Affairs.

• Tell us how you first met? Who what when where why? Give us the dirty Details.

  We met through Eharmony. Our first date was in Hoboken. We had dinner at 3 Forty Grill (now closed). There was a Bob Dylan concert in the park nearby and the tour buses were parked in the street next to us. After dinner, we took a walk around the neighborhood just talking. At the time Matt’s job had a science/medical aspect to it which I found interesting.

• Tell us about the proposal. (Did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning? how did you feel? nervous, excited, freaking out?)

  We were going to a Christmas party at his friend Ali’s mother’s house. We got there early and Ali distracted me while Matt got set up. She eventually pointed me to a small side room where Matt and our parents were. I knew he was proposing soon but I didn’t know it would be that night until I saw our parents there. He made a quick speech and proposed. He had also spent the previous few weeks staying late at work so he could put together a scrapbook of things we’d done together.

• What is your favorite trend for weddings right now?

  Wedding dresses aren’t all satin, strapless mermaid style dresses anymore. And there are a lot of unique options for venues now.

Why did you pick the Lake Valhalla Club, What Attracted you?

We pick the Lake Valhalla Club because It’s rustic but not too rustic. The lake is beautiful. They had a really good menu/options. And the price per person was all inclusive so we knew up front how much it would cost.
