As part of our blog, we interview the bride and groom about their wedding experience. This is what they said:

Tell us about the Bride Where you grew up went to school, where you work.

I grew up in Mendham, NJ where I attended school K-12. I went to Ohio State for college and then moved to Hoboken and started working in healthcare advertising, where I’ve been for the past 6 years.

Tell us about the Groom Where you grew up went to school, where you work.

I moved around a lot as a kid but spent the most time growing up in Mt. Olive, NJ. I graduated from George Mason for undergrad and currently finishing an MBA from Penn State (graduation in December). He also moved to Hoboken right after undergrad and started working as an accountant. He is now at a hedge fund in NYC.

Tell us how you first met? Who what when where why? Give us the dirty Details.

We met at Willie McBride’s Tavern in Hoboken. Dan’s sister-in-law was a bartender there and he was there quite frequently. After seeing Maggie a few different times on various Bingo or Trivia nights, he asked her out and the rest is history.

When did you know he/she was the one? Was there something he/she did?,etc.

Dan knew from the start, Maggie took some convincing!

Tell us about the proposal. (Did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning? how did you feel? nervous, excited, freaking out?)

We both knew it was coming as we had discussed rings and our future together. Dan stressed out the whole week leading into the proposal and that tipped Maggie off that something would be happening that Friday. Ultimately dinner at the restaurant of our first date, a walk along the Hudson with Proposal, and an evening with friends and family back at Willie McBrides with a Bruce Springsteen (Maggie’s favorite) cover band jamming the night away.

Tell us the one thing you love most about each other.

We’re both practical, understanding what things really matter and what things to let go.

If you feel comfortable, share with us something silly or quirky the other person does.

Maggie snorts when she’s amused. Dan thinks he can dance, but he can’t.

Besides getting married, what is the one thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day?

Sharing the time with all of our great friends and family.

What inspired your decor or theme?

The Winter season.

What is one thing you wish you would have known earlier in regards to planning?

How much time it takes!

Why did you pick your Wedding Venue? What attracted you?

We needed something big enough to hold our group (& a dance floor big enough, too!). Both of us also like the simplicity of the room– many venues we saw were very “venue-ey”– they had a certain style that didn’t match our personalities. We also love the convenience factor of holding the reception right where the guests will be spending the night.

Westin Governer Morris Inn Hosts A Special Day

At this past wedding, the food was delicious, the flowers were inspiring, and the DJ kept the guests entertained for the entire night. It was a classic wedding with all of the traditional wedding activities and traditions. The bride and groom tied the knot in front of friends and family in a beautiful ceremony that symbolized the love that they share.

The Wedding Reception

The couple shared their first dance. The speeches contained a right mix of lighthearted fun and touching moments about their connections to the bride and groom and the love that they share.

Dinner was a gourmet delight but the real star of the day was the delicious cake. The baker outdid themselves by creating a treat that not only looked remarkable but tasted as good as it looked. If you have been to many weddings, you probably know that this is not always the case. After dinner, the real party began as the guests occupied the dance floor. The DJ played a great mix of music that was able to satisfy both young and old. The wedding was a grand celebration and of course, all of these magical moments captured by the talents of David Eric Photography.
