Urban Street Photography

We love Urban street Photography as it is the representation of urban spaces and the lives of those living, working and moving through such spaces. it takes many forms including architectural, landscape, portrait, street, object, performance, documentary, archaeological, design and fine-art photography. My preference is still for the urban environment, and that’s simply because of circumstances which have brought me to photograph in rutherford and ridgewood downtown area. I like the old town look the textures of the buildings, walls, and metal staircases. Shoot into the windows of the coffee shops. The hustle and bustle of the people in the background. It is photography at it rawest. It is the serial look of a perfect park setting where it appears like you are all alone.

How to shoot Urban Street Photography

To successfully shoot these portraits, I had to pull out every technique I learned. The surroundings were always different, whether inside a building or outside on the street. I took portraits in the morning, at noon, and at dusk. The weather was always unpredictable; I shot in the rain, in the snow, in the hail, and in the sun. So long as you keep you and your couple safe and aware of your surroundings, as you are on busy streets, then you shouldn’t have a problem getting some great photos. I find the genre very fascinating! I’ve had the bug for years and cannot see it dying down anytime soon.
