Despite struggling to work up any enthusiasm for photography (as mentioned last week), I did get out on Saturday, meeting up with another photographer. It was great to get out and clear my head, and we ended up at Carhead Rocks in the Peak District.

Looking back at my images now, I’m very pleased that I ventured out.

I shot this with my Fuji XT3 and Fuji 10-24 lens at 10mm. It’s a tripod mounted exposure of 1/5” at f/14.0 and ISO160. I also used a 3 stop Reverse ND Graduated filter to balance the exposure between the sky and ground.

As you can see, the light was quite dramatic but unfortunately didn’t last. At the time, it looked like we were on for an amazing sunset but then at the final moment, a rain cloud rolled in to cover the sun. What was disappointing is that there was no rain in the forecast and that was the only rain we saw all day. Never mind, perhaps I will get lucky next time.
