We start the second half of our A to Z tour of the UK in the very north of Scotland with an image from Mainland, the largest Island in the Orkneys, then visit Oxford with two images relating to the city's university heritage and finish with a view across the River Thames in Marlow, Bucks.
Magdalen Tower, completed in 1509, is a bell tower that forms part of Magdalen College, Oxford.
Merton Field, a grass playing field north of the main part of Christ Church Meadow and part of Merton College in central Oxford.
Marlow, Buckinghamshire on a crisp November afternoon looking across the River Thames.

A view of the beach at Bay of Skaill on the west coast of Mainland, the Orkney Isles, Scotland. Mainland is the main island of Orkney. Both of Orkney's burghs, Kirkwall and Stromness, lie on the island, which is also the heart of Orkney's ferry and air connections. Seventy-five per cent of Orkney's population live on the island, which is more densely populated than the other islands of the archipelago.
