Both video and Music compliment each other wonderfully.    The special relationship between these two elements makes for some great productions.  But what exactly does music add to video?  And what does video bring to music?

Music can add a great rhythm to video that completely changes the game.  With the right editing techniques, there can be a wonderful musicality element in a video project that makes it very unique.  This can show the viewers how artistic a video can be. When the two combine, a mood can be created in just a few seconds.  For example, if you are working on a video project and you are trying to convey a feeling of sorrow, adding sad music to have in the background can help viewers get that feeling faster.  Changing a mood is also easy with the help of music as well.  A lot of the time, video can only have so much power when it comes to mood, so it is important to have other elements to enhance it.

Adding video to music can really take it to the next level.  As a videographer, it is very important to be familiar with all genres of music and all time periods because it gives you a wider range to draw from to use for videos.  Video can add a story to a Song.  A lot artists use music videos to tell a visual story to pair with their music.  These videos can sometimes be directly related to the song, or can portray something completely different and unexpected.  The great thing about music videos is that you can listen to a song hundreds of times and have an idea in your head of what a song means to you, and then when the music video gets released, it takes you completely by surprise. Now, when popular artists release a new song, fans are on the edge of their seats awaiting the reveal of the music video to go along with it.  

These two elements go hand in hand, and as the years go on and technology gets more advanced, we can only expect that their relationship will grow stronger.
