One of the biggest advantages of having Neutral Density (ND) and Gradual Neutral Density (GND) filters is to find all subjects moving.
First you want to spot moving objects and then capture them in the midst of the movement but not as in a freeze shot. The idea is to capture a slice of time rather than a micro second. To explain better, let's think how good it would be if you can capture light during the golden hours of sun rise or sunset on a beautiful beach long enough to make the water look silky smooth and white.
How about photographing star trails or car trails in an aesthetic shot with a beautiful architecture in the background. How about lifting an important architecture from the ordinary to Wow..that's amazing with a bit of cloud movement on a perfectly sunny day?
Well keep thinking and the possibilities are endless. The point is you can photograph what your naked eyes cannot see normally as our brain does not stack images for a period of time.
Cut to the chase this is what I am feeling these days and am out on the prowl as time and good weather permits to do some experimenting and bring some fabulous shots home.
