I was in Batu Gajah, Perak that night with my associates to finalize the preparations for the next day's bicycling event. We were driving around to several locations and I was attracted to this beautifully lit Chinese temple, with red lanterns and effigies around. After the third time passing in front of it, my curiosity peaked and I just had to stop and see what the festivities were. The lighting were so beautiful, and I know there is an opportunity for beautiful low light photography here.

The temple is known as Kuan Tay Temple, built in the 1880's. Located right in the town of Batu Gajah, Perak in Malaysia. All the lights were a celebration of the Hungry Ghost Festival. The opera was also part of the festivities. After asking the local leader there, I was allowed to photograph the event, even in the temple itself.
