Christchurch Priory Lord Bute wedding photographer 2016 review

A lovely Wedding this was and it was great for the bride prep as the bride and groom’s home was just around the corner from my place so very convenient. I am loving this 2016 year review looking back on all the wonderful weddings I had the great pleasure being part of. Charlotte the bride wasn’t that bothered about bridal prep images but never the less asked me to attend. Even though my brief was just fly on the wall I got a series of awesome shots of bride doing her makeup. The main aspect of this image I love is the light, without light I cant work, although I can create my own light I sometimes love using just the natural lighting and here it is gorgeous and I have helped the image along a bit with a high key filter high art edit, which has made all the tones far more delicate and light and airy which really suit the image content. The hint of colour in the dressing gown also pulls the eye into the bride in this Shot and the last bits of colour are the skin tones which keep drawing the ye back to the subject.

TOP TEN TIPS FOR A Perfect Wedding DAYNext awesome image is this shot through the window of the wedding car as it arrives at the Christchurch Priory and the window was just wound down enough for me to be able to compose the bride’s face and smile in shot before the reflection hides. I am not too worried about the chin being hidden as this shot is all about the smile and the eyes! Charlotte is giving her mum a big grin as mum was giving Charlotte away. This is a real bride ceremony arrival smile shot, a real special moment captured forever. Shooting through the window does two things, first it frames the subject and second the glass reflection and the high art effect rendered on the image focus attention on the brides face. The high art edit filter has rendered everything below the window with cold blues but the main subject matter the face has been rendered in golden glow enriched colour which draws the eye to the subject’s face.

TOP TEN TIPS FOR A PERFECT WEDDING DAYAnother shot using the car still and shooting through the window of the wedding car to frame the subject. This shot is in black and white as it strongly depicts emotion and colour distracts us the viewer from concentrating on the emotion. It is a very emotional time for the bride as she arrives at the ceremony and often I see tears, and often as a photographer you must know when to leave well be and let things just happen but place yourself to grab the best image possible of really crucial moments. Three of the images on this blog really represent what I get paid for, to capture those most special moments.

TOP TEN TIPS FOR A PERFECT WEDDING DAYAnother very awesome special moment captured, this shot makes it onto every couple’s must not miss shot list, the first kiss! This shot just looks spectacular due to the venue of Christchurch Priory with its huge stain glass window, and Gothic archways, quite a fairy tale image to be sure.

TOP TEN TIPS FOR A PERFECT WEDDING DAYOn first view this shot is a very ordinary wedding shot that looks like your average bride and groom wedding shot that gets done at every wedding, but this is what every couple wants from at least a few of their supplied wedding images. Its great to supply and create very arty and out of the ordinary shots for couples, but at almost every wedding couples want a shot like this, and it is important for a wedding photographer to remember this.
