LouFest 2017

Don’t go into the light, Carol Anne.

LouFest is an annual music festival held in St. Louis’ Forest Park that combines national headlining music acts with local upstarts on three stages with a veritable village in between of art tents, food and drink vendors, retail, carnival activities, a kids area and more.

This year, the festival lineup featured “Hail! Hail! Chuck Berry!” (an all-star tribute to the father of Rock n Roll – see image above), Snoop Dogg, Weezer, Run the Jewels, Cage the Elephant, Spoon, Mvstermind, and about 25 other artists.  New this year was  LouFest U, an initiative targeting college and university students throughout the region, which added several more musicians of its own.

My son, Harper.

Although I didn’t get as much picture-taking in as I would have liked, I was so stoked to attend this event with my wife and two sons.  It was an amazing first concert experience for the boys, especially my oldest, who will forever remember it.  For the last three years, I have curated The Dark Room, which is under the umbrella of the Kranzberg Arts Foundation.  It was through KAF that I was able to attend LouFest; what a kind and generous organization to provide tickets to its entire staff (and their families) for this event!
