Small Beer Taproom Wedding Photography

Dry January was over, and the way was then clear for a February Wedding at Small Beer Taproom in South Bermondsey. My first two weddings this year were at a brewery and a wine resort. I clearly have clients that are good at organising piss-ups! The Small Beer Brew Co. was established in 2017, producing low-alcohol beer revitalising a centuries-old tradition. Based on the Bermondsey Beer Mile, they host all manner of events and live music in their taproom. It’s the perfect space for a wedding reception.

Rosie and Dave both got ready in Herne Hill in South London. The bride was at her childhood home with her bridesmaids and family. She had Kat Sykes & Billie Pingault on hair and make-up duty, with flowers provided by Blooming Green. The groom was staying around the corner at The Half Moon pub and hotel. His party’s flowers had the addition of some heather picked by his mum from her own garden in Aberdeenshire. Once they were ready, the guys then headed to the bride’s location to collect some stuff. There, Rosie was busy getting into her Gillian Million dress.

The bride and her parents jumped into a London cab for the journey to Asylum Chapel. The gaggle of sisters and friends that made up the bridal party were waiting outside in their various shades of red. Inside you could hear a pin drop as the rest of the guests waited expectantly. A couple of readings interspersed the short civil ceremony, and then it ended with a singalong. The happy couple made their exit, then we gathered at the front of the chapel for the obligatory confetti shower and a few family group shots.

Back inside, Cater London served up canapés and there was much mingling. Ceilidh band Fiddle Paradiddle provided music, and Rosie’s sisters were on MC duty. After a short reception, soon it was time for them to announce a relocation. Most of the wedding guests headed out on foot to Small Beer Taproom, and the weather was very kind. Me and the newlyweds headed to the riverbank in the cab for some quiet time and a few portraits.
