looking back on a whirlwind month

Coming out of lockdown we’ve been firing on all cylinders: moving into our new studio, supporting some of our smaller longer term clients with their content, adding lots of new clients to our roster and welcoming new faces to the team.

So where do I start? Well, you may have seen all the images of our new studio space already – it feels a bit like we’re new parents brandishing pics of their children or pets over social media We’ve settled in really well, and have welcomed a number of clients into the space for shoots already. We’ll have images to share with you very soon from our work for beauty products and haircare brand Ksoni and Christmas decorations producer Treasure Tree.

Over the Summer, we also welcomed Kelly Hill to the team, who has now taken on the mantle of lead photographer. Our increasing workload provided a baptism of fire, and I think there’s only been two days in the past 2 months that Kelly hasn’t been shooting or processing new shoot imagery. It’s reassuring from a business perspective that making a new appointment – in what’s such a tricky time for everyone due to COVID – is clearly such a right move for us. However, even more satisfying is seeing our quality of delivery and service increase for our clients. On a more personal level, Kelly’s almost seamless integration into our team says volumes about her and the wonderful team that we’ve built up.

Bryony also has a re-jig of her role over the Summer, and is responsible for managing and producing all of our photography projects. That’s no easy task, but plenty of hard graft and effort from her has shown her abilities – and our clients love working with her.

To provide a general run-down from our photography team, September saw us deliver projects for ZigZag Tea, Evopure, Trenderwear, Functional Foods Co, UrbanVeda, Maters & Co, White Rabbit Pizza, and Kokoon Tech. The amazing thing here is that we’ve covered so many of our sectors all in one burst: food and drink, beauty, products, fashion, portraiture and technology – with events the noted omission due to the continued uncertainties surrounding COVID. This is a wonderful achievement.

On the video production side, we’ve been no less busy. Production Director Lauren and Technical Director Haider have straddled the moving and still image lines – creating social content for top beauty brands DrPawPaw and MOA and sleep product pioneers Kokoon Tech. The team have also produced series’ of recipe videos for household cooking brand Frylight as well as continued content for Co-op Food. Fashion has also been a big player, having created a fashion catwalk film for fashion label Christian Kye, and we’re almost there on releasing a crowdfunding video for leather product manufacturer Silviano.

September also saw us reunited with self tanning brand James Read Tan, with whom we spent two days building a set of product videos, how to videos, and capturing James’ brand story. These are all due for release by the end of the year.

Our editing team of Cameron and Ryan have been nothing short of superb, working all hours to make sure that we can hit our deadlines.

With COVID still looming over us all, we’re taking as many precautions as we can in order to remain responsible and prioritise the safety of both our team and our clients. At the same time, life continues, and the work that we’re providing for our clients to help them stay visible to their customers is part of what we have to do.

Looking forward to October, I can’t wait to share some news on some exciting new projects that we are already working on, such as a huge stop motion project for a leading beauty brand. The only thing i’m not looking forward to is the onset of colder and rainier days!

Stay well everybody
