With the recent introduction to an OS specially dedicated to Ipad, Apple is working on improving user experience on different devices.

The public beta version of iPadOS was released earlier and now the final update is reaching iPads globally.

iPadOS supports widgets on the home screen just like Android.

New tools have been added to view and edit your photos. Apple Pencil has received new updates as well.

iPadOS launches apps with twice the speed. The face unlock on the iPad Pro 11-inch and iPad Pro 12.9-inch is 30 percent faster.

Sizes of all the apps on the App Store have been reduced to half. The updates that these apps will receive in the future will be 60 percent smaller on average.

Multitasking on the home screen like in Android

In the iPadOS 13.1, the home screen layout can accommodate more apps on each home screen and you can even add widgets on the primary home screen.

You have to left-swipe to access the widget menu from iOS 12 pinned to the home screen.

Using the slide option, you can quickly access your favorite apps without having to return to the home screen and then going to another app.

You can open multiple emails simultaneously using the split view.

New Features in Apple Pencil

To work better with the new iPad OS 13.1, Apple Pencil has received some upgrades. It has improved sensitivity.

You can highlight anything on iPad OS by swiping diagonally from the bottom-right using the Apple Pencil.

Furthermore, editing and sharing the screenshot to other apps is also available.

It is possible to screenshot an entire webpage and make notes on it to share later.

This also works in MailPagesKeynote, etc. There are also additional tools to be found.

You can now connect external storage devices

Now you can connect external storage devices like USB drives, SD card and hard drives to store your data.

Additional features to the Files app include folder creation, nested folder view, preview pane for files, zip and unzip support and keyboard shortcuts support for external keyboards.

Safari can now download files, yes, actual files (EXEs, ISO, ZIP, etc.) to the Files app.

Other updates

It is now possible to download and apply custom fonts to your iPad.

Siri will be getting Indian English male and female voice support. The new keyboard supports 15 new Indian languages.

The keyboard can provide predictions in the Hindi keyboard.

Also, there are now 30 new document fonts for Assamese, Bangla, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Nepali, Odia, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
