Swiggy has plans to go beyond delivering food with the Swiggy Go App. It will be launched in the year 2020, starting with Bengaluru first.
This year, it began delivering grocery items from local stores near you. It is expected to deliver from stores in 10 categories ranging from fruits to pharmacies.
The company announced Swiggy Go on Wednesday.
It says that the new app will deliver a wide range of items, such as forgotten keys, laundry, lunch boxes etc, will be picked and delivered to the customers.
Swiggy Stores Coming up in Hyderabad and Bengaluru
The brand which began in 2014, also has been been working on on-demand Delivery services. It has plans of launching Swiggy Stores in Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
“Bengaluru will be the first city in the country to experience Swiggy do the last-mile delivery for everything, not just-food. By 2020, we will expand Swiggy Go to over 300 cities and Swiggy Stores to all the major metros, ushering in a new era of convenience for consumers across India,” said Sriharsha Majety, Chief Executive Officer, Swiggy.
These stores will be designed for special doorstep delivery of things like medicines and flowers in just under an hour.

All the deliveries will be made by Swiggy’s own fleet. This will give the delivery partners access to an additional avenue for income.
The company claims to have over 2 lakh active delivery partners.
The brand turned 5 this year in August and has taken a huge leap from 6 delivery partner in one city to 200,000 in 290 cities across India.
Dunzo app is their biggest competition. Dunzo is backed by Google. It is a delivery service available 24/7 in Mumbai, Pune, Gurgaon, Delhi, and Noida.
