To not fall behind in the competition with Amazon Prime and Hotstar, Netflix, for the first time has launched a mobile-only plan at half the cost of its basic monthly plan.
The mobile-only plan for Rs.199 is launched for its users in India exclusively. No other country has such a subscription available for it.

But there also some things that are to be noticed in this mobile-only plan. Though you will get the ad-free access to all the TV shows and movies on Netflix, you can only watch it at 480p.
The mobile-only plan doesn’t come with HD playback and is available for smartphones and tablets.
Why has Netflix Launched the Rs 199 plan?
The obvious aim is to increase the number of subscribers in India because it is the world’s second-largest smartphone market.
Other streaming services like Hotstar, Zee5, Amazon Prime Video have a good subscriber base in India because of their competitive prices and a greater number of Bollywood movies available.
By launching a cheaper plan for India’s smartphone users Netflix plans on becoming the app that every other person has installed, like how common is it for a person to have WhatsApp installed on their phone.

How is the Netflix mobile plan so cheap?
The catch here is that the mobile-only plan costs only Rs. 199 because it doesn’t allow you to stream videos in high definition.
Video streaming quality is restricted to 480p in the plan.

From the list of subscription plans, select the Rs. 199 plan and add your payment and other details. Your first month will be free and you can cancel anytime.
