Notched displays, in-display fingerprint scanners, rotating cameras, all of these have introduced us to something new in the smartphone industry, next up is the Under-Display Front Camera.
Oppo revealed the world’s first under-display camera and just a few hours later, Xiaomi showed off its own version of the technology.
Lin Bin, the president of Xiaomi posted a video on Weibo and Twiter of the Xiaomi 9 with an under-display front camera.
This new feature will make the display truly seamless. No punch hole cameras, no notches, just a screen with the display all over it.

Xiaomi has recently filed a patent for the technology which used two alternatively-driven display portions and let light pass through them to the camera sensor.
Earlier in May, Xiaomi posted a video showing off a foldable phone but no updates were shared after that.
So according to that, things can’t be said for sure for the under-display front camera of Xiaomi 9. It may or may not come out in the end.
