Reading Time: 3 minutes

This post is a Galaxy A50 review, Samsung has set a really aggressive price on this one considering the fact that it comes with the latest set of features.

Samsung has launched quite a number of devices in its Galaxy A series. This series is focused on the great quality of cameras and AMOLED displays. Galaxy A50 has both an amazing camera set up along with an AMOLED display.

Specifications of Galaxy A50

Design

Though the device has a plastic body, the polycarbonate back still feels premium to hold. It weighs 166 grams.

The 6.4-inches display is a super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors. It has an infinity-U type of display of the resolution 1080 x 2340 pixels. The display has a ratio of 19.5:9 with ~403 PPI density.

It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The screen-to-body ratio is ~84.9%. The Samsung Galaxy A5O comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The fact that the Galaxy A series is focused on AMOLED displays can be clearly seen with this Phone as it is quite strikingly vibrant and bright. It has a full HD+ resolution. The USB port is of type-C.

Processor

Galaxy A50 is powered by Exynos 9610 chipset which is Samsung’s own design. It consists of octa-cores split into two quad-core clusters.

It works decently, good enough for this price range and can run multiple light-weight applications smoothly.

Out of the box, the phone runs on Android Pie and Samsung’s new One UI. It is designed by Samsung to work best on taller smartphones. It makes it easier to use the device single-handedly.

The internal storage and RAM are available in two variants. One has 128 GB of storage and 6GB RAM and the second one comes with 64 GB of storage and 4GB RAM.

It is powered by a 4,000 mAh battery.

Camera

The main camera is a triple camera setup consisting of 25MP (wide) + 8MP (ultra-wide) + 5MP(depth sensor). It can record videos of 1080p@30fps.

The front camera is of 25MP and gives quite sharp pictures compared to other phones in this price range.

Price of Galaxy A50

At the moment, 4GB/64B version of the phone costs Rs. 18,490 on Amazon and the 6GB/128GB version costs Rs. 21,490.
