Look For Naturally Occurring Frames Around You
Framing your subject in the right way is very important. Whenever you’re taking a picture of a person, make sure there’s nothing behind their head.
If there is a pole behind their head or a road sign, it will act as a blocking item. Move your phone slightly to remove it from behind of their head or ask the person to move aside a little.
Frames are everywhere around you. You don’t have to be at a picturesque place to capture pleasing pictures.
If the picture is framed right, it can look far better than a normal shot. Here are few examples,
I shot these pictures on my Poco F1. In the first picture of Jama Masjid, you can see that I have used the cloths hung for shade to create a frame for the Masjid itself.
Placing the subject in a naturally defined frame helps the viewer’s eye to identify the subject instantly.
Use Monotonus Patterns In Pictures

There’s just something about repetitive patterns that are so aesthetically attractive.
You can click such pictures of anything available at your home. Toffees, vegetables, biscuits, etc. Basically, anything which is small and available in a good number of pieces will help you take better pictures from your smartphone.
These monotonous patterns make a strong visual impact, and photographing something like a beautiful, tiled floor can be enough to create a striking image.
Use Grid Lines To Compose Your Pictures Better
Keep your picture clean and simple. Always use the grid available in your phone’s Camera to check if your picture is straight.
Hold your phone with both of your hands to prevent any shaky shots. Use your thumb or index finger to tap on the shutter.
With the help of grid-lines, you can also take advantage of the Rule of thirds. According to it, when the subject is placed on the thirds, horizontally or vertically, it looks more pleasing to the eyes.

Find Symmetry In Your Environment
Composing pictures which have a sense of symmetry in them is one of the easiest ways to improve your photography.
In terms of Photography, symmetry means that your picture can be divided into two identical parts.
Almost as if they were mirror images. Again, grid-lines can come handy for this one too for aligning the symmetry perfectly.
Do Not Zoom In Camera
If you want to take a closer picture of your subject, the move closer instead of zooming in the camera.
Only professional cameras have the ability to zoom in without reducing the picture quality (because of zoom lenses).
When you zoom in your phone camera, the pixels get stretched out and the result is an image with wonky edges.
Refrain From Using Third Party Camera Apps
This is a complete NO NO. ZERO exceptions. The third party camera apps might have filters that make your or the scene look pretty but it just ruins their quality.
If you want to use filters, edit your picture later on. Click them with your basic phone camera and edit them on some amazing mobile editing apps like Snapseed, VSCO or Afterlight.
