A Sunset Over The Sea and Some Thoughts

At the end of the day when the ocean’s blue
Makes way for this sunsety hue
It makes me ponder on the day that’s past
One more day that I knew, would’nt last
With each dying day, I turn more brittle
As each day passes I die a little
Each setting sun with it’s warm pink glow
Feeds my heart and makes it mellow
That ancient soul which makes my core
With each day that goes, wisens some more

In twilight’s embrace, sensuous and sweet
I heard a whisper, quite distant but discreet
“That day of reckoning is now one bit closer
The day you meet our heavenly composer
From this point onward, every moment
Is a gift to cherish, to seek contentment”
I felt on my face as the last bit of warmth melted
That lingered on from the day that had just ended
Then I smiled to myself and looked out to the sea
I know I am ready whether it is to be or not to be.
