Dewsbury railway Station is the last station remaining in the town of Dewsbury, West Yorkshire. The line that passes through the station connects Leeds with Manchester. At 1 stage Dewsbury was served by 4 stations and Dewsbury Station was known as Dewsbury Wellington Road from June 1924 until February 1969.
The station is very popular now with over 1.7 million passengers using the station annually. The station has direct services to Middlesbrough, Hull, Manchester Airport - Victoria - Piccadilly stations, Leeds, Huddersfield, Southport and York. The facilities include a manned ticket office, waiting rooms, covered platforms, and the West Riding a public house - refreshment rooms with direct access to both street level and platforms. I am now advised that there are ticket barriers at the station.
