COTTON CANDY FLUFF WRITING PROMPTS 🏴‍☠️ ACCEPTING

//highmore really looking forward to some pirate fairytale here, but what will she get instead? 🤔

A story, huh?

“Then let me tell you a tale of Salazar and his plundering crew——”   He begins, quickly diving into the adventure of pirates searching high and low for a mysterious island with immense treasure and the ability to grant wishes.  A tale secretly spun with events of his own life.

It’s then that Bartholomew almost wishes he were a Caster to project the imagery beyond their cage of words and into the world of magic.  But he cannot choose his class, so he compromises by adding flair through his hands’ wild and vague motion as the pirates reach landfall.

Though they celebrate their success, no story is complete without conflict.

“Unfortunately, the crew cannot fend off the incoming soldiers, drunken on cheap booze.  Even after their captain had said to mind the drinks——useless, the lot of them …”   He says quietly, a temporary break in the dramatic voiceover as he goes on,   “And so, Salazar must single-handedly fight against the navy!  Aye, one pirate against ten marines be unfair, but the captain is brave and elegant in the face of danger.  It becomes a bloody battle, but Salazar triumphs over his enemies, holding onto dear life …”

It is easy for a storyteller to twist a tragic history into a picture of victory.  Still, Rider smiles bitterly despite himself, a hand unwittingly drifting toward his neck as he continues.  Finally, their fictional pirate, battered and beaten, uses the last of his strength to reach a mystic lake hidden in the island’s only cave.  Desperate to see the fabled treasure before his soul expires, Salazar kneels before the water and peers into its mirror-like surface.

“Haha.  Do you know what he sees reflected in the cave’s pool?”   Bartholomew asks, encouraging Highmore for an answer.   “Go on, take a wild guess.”
