Kerala to Bhutan road trip on a motorbike | 6,500 kms in 22 days

Crossing the bamboo bridge | Ajay river, West Bengal, India
Inverted little planet (tiny planet) self-portrait | Buddha Dordenma, Kuenselphodrang, Thimphu, Bhutan
Inverted little planet (tiny planet) self-portrait | Tiger’s Nest (Paro Taktsang), Paro Valley, Paro District, Bhutan
Riding in rain | Naidupet, Andhra Pradesh, India

These are few of the images shot during our Trivandrum, Kerala to Bhutan road trip on KTM Duke motorcycle: 6,500 plus kilometres in 22 days. All the images where shot using the new GoPro Max and GoPro HERO8.
During the trip google maps took us through many beautiful village roads, but ended up as off-roading rides. Ignoring maps helped us ride on highways.
Getting immigration for me was easy, but getting the RTO permit for the motorcycle took almost a day. The new rule states that riders need a local escort with them during the entire journey in Bhutan. The vehicle permit costs Rs. 200/day. But the escort/taxi/cab cost comes to Rs. 2,500 to 4,000 per day, can be expensive if you are traveling in a small group. Nevertheless the day spent in RTO was fun meeting many other riders from India.
Food in Bhutan is great. You get great beef dishes and local Druk beer.
