Even though we knew that this restaurant, Flavors, existed...it was an Indian Restaurant...and I had never tried Indian food before.  I have issues with food that is too spicy, but after reading up on the subject, I discovered that there are items on the menu that I could order that weren't THAT spicy!

So...off we went to check out, FLAVORS, the Indian Restaurant located just off Main Street in Canandaigua.

When we first walked in, I felt as if we were entering a spa!  It was very tranquil...with candles lit and the light smell of incense...and flute music playing softly.  We were escorted immediately to our table...and our water glasses were promptly filled.  Our waiter was soft spoken, and exceptionally polite.  We truly were treated like royalty.  It is kind of nice to be treated special...every once in a while!

 

I explained to our waiter that this was my first time eating Indian food and I had a couple questions for him.  He was more than happy to explain the menu to me and even had a few suggestions on what to try.  I must admit that my most favorite thing was the Naan Garlic Bread that was served to us with three different sauces...one was a mint sauce, one was a tamarind sauce, and one was a white yogurt sauce...similar to the sauce found on Mediterranean food.

I came away with one thought in mind...I would highly recommend FLAVORS to others and we will return!  But, THEIR idea of spicy and MY idea of spicy are two very different things!
