Commander, Joe Biden’s Dog, Bit Secret Service Agents 24 Times

According to recently disclosed Secret Service records obtained through Freedom of Information requests and shared online, the German Shepherd Commander caused significant disruptions for the presidential bodyguards.

Though heavily redacted to preserve the anonymity of agents and security strategies, these documents highlight approximately 24 biting incidents between October 2022 and July 2023. These incidents resulted in injuries to Secret Service members, including bites on various body parts such as the wrist, forearm, elbow, waist, chest, thigh, and shoulder.

The records illustrate that these incidents prompted a shift in tactics, with agents advised to maintain a significant distance from the Commander. This change in approach was recommended after multiple incidents, including one where a Secret Service agent required medical treatment due to a severe bite.

Despite efforts to address the behavior through training, consultations with veterinarians, and other measures, the Commander’s presence in the White House environment proved too challenging. Consequently, the Commander was relocated to live with relatives in October of the previous year.

These revelations echo a previous incident involving another Biden family pet, Major, who injured a Secret Service agent in 2021, leading to Major’s relocation to Delaware.
