A Dog with 12.7 cm Long tongue sets the Guinness World Records, in US

A Labrador and German Shepherd Mix dog from Louisiana, US, has achieved a prestigious distinction in the Guinness World Records for having the “longest Tongue on living dog.” This dog tongue is 12.7cm long, even longer than a soda can.

This Labrador and German shepherd mix dog’s name is Zoey. Sadie and Drew Williams, the dog’s owner, said that when Zoey was a little pup, it would keep its tongue out, but they didn’t find it abnormal then. So they adopted it when Zoey was six weeks old. However, people started commenting on its long tongue. After that, they started noticing it.

We thought surely she’d grow into it, but she didn’t. She still has an enormous tongue compared to her body. So, Williams said sometime last year, we took her to the vet and measured her tongue.

When they discovered Zoey’s tongue length, they applied for the Guinness World Record, and the claim was soon verified.

Drew Williams mentioned that during their walks, they occasionally encounter people who approach their dog with a desire to pet her. Williams always ensures to forewarn them, saying, “She’s friendly, but be aware that she may slobber on you.” On some occasions, their dog does indeed leave a noticeable slobber mark on the person’s black pants.
