A compelling and heartbreaking story has come from the earthquake-struck Afghanistan, where a dog repeatedly visits his departed owner’s House.

Dogs are such incredible animals that never forget their human generosity. Even if their human sadly passes away, the dog stays loyal to them and remembers them. That’s why dogs are known as man’s best friends.

Such a heartbreaking tale is showcased in a photo shared on Twitter that shows a dog that keeps coming back to the Destroyed House of its human, who was unfortunately killed in the Afghanistan earthquake.

A woman named Samira SR, an advocacy and communications professional, shared the dog’s photo on her Twitter account on June 26. The picture shows the furry dog standing amidst the rubble after a powerful earthquake hit Afghanistan last Wednesday.

The photo’s caption says that every person in the house that this dog belonged to was killed in the earthquake. It further says that neighbors took the dog with them to take care of him and feed it. However, he keeps returning to the destroyed house at Ochki village in Gayan, Paktika.

Samira wrote as a caption to the photo, “Every person in the house this dog belongs to was killed in the earthquake. Neighbors said they took him with them to feed/take care of. But, he keeps coming back to the destroyed house and wails. Ochki village in Gayan, Paktika.”

An earthquake of magnitude 6.0 killed more than 1,100 people in Afghanistan, with the Paktika community being one of the worst hit. In Gayan, at least 1,000 homes were damaged.
